Sharon Hale - President
Sharon Hale - President

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified EFT Therapist working in private practice (www.SharonHaleCounseling.com). Because of my own personal experiences of being a married working mom (I have three energetic boys!), I am especially passionate about working with couples struggling to connect through the stressors of parenting, early/mid-career transitions, and just living in a world that likes to say, “You’re not ___ enough.”

As a white, cisgender, heterosexual woman, I am aware that the privileges of my social location means that I experience the world in a very different way than many of my peers and clients. I am committed to continually promote equity and justice so that our community can experience the kind of relationships that allow for true connection and security.

If you want to contact me, you can reach me at Sharon@SharonHaleCounseling.com.

I am a licensed couples therapist working in private practice (www.hzbtherapy.com) located in Portland, OR. I believe wholeheartedly in the transformative power of relationships. Guided by this belief, I am committed to supporting couples on their journey towards healthier, more fulfilling connections. As a white cisgender female, I acknowledge the privileges and biases associated with my identity and am committed to using my position to create a more equitable and just society. I recognize that my social location shapes how I navigate the world and interact with others. It is with this awareness that I strive to foster a therapeutic environment that is sensitive to the diverse experiences and backgrounds of the couples I work with. By helping couples cultivate loving, respectful, and fulfilling partnerships, I believe we can create a ripple effect of positive change, contributing to a more compassionate, empathetic, and interconnected society.

I focus on working with relationships and trauma, and specifically how complex and relational trauma impacts the relationship system. I am a white, cisgender, heterosexual, able-bodied, middle class woman in an intercultural marriage to a Mexican man. I am aware of the many ways I hold unearned privilege and am dedicated to working with clients around understanding their own social locations and how these locations interact and impact the relational system.
